REGIONAL
INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER EXPANDS ITS DIAL-UP INTERNET ACCESS TO 98
MAJOR CITIES
Westlake Village, CA May 14, 1998 – Internet Specialties West,
Inc. (ISWest) announced today that it will provide local dial-up access
to the Internet in over 98 major US cities, including New York, Chicago,
Atlanta, Dallas, Florida and Los Angeles, and it will expand its coverage
to 150 cities by the end of 1998. ISWest has built a state-of-the-art
Internet facility that connects small to medium size businesses with
dedicated high speed Internet access. "Our facility was built
to compete with the best of the Internet Service Providers",
says Keith McCallion, Network Operations Manager of ISWest.
The national portion of ISWest’s dial-up service will be provided
by StarNet, which operates many nationwide points of presence across
the country. All subscribers will have access to 56Kbps Flex modems,
(V.90 soon to roll out) in each city that ISWest has a point of presence
with StarNet. In an effort to be competitive with the larger dial-up
providers, such as Earthlink, Netcom and MSN, ISWest is offering their
new 56K dial-up service for $19.95 per month and $0 set up fee. This
will give consumers another choice in ISP’s, according to Drew
J. Kaplan, Vice President and Director of Sales and Marketing. http://www.iswest.com/dialup.htm
