(ISWest) announced today that it will provide local dial-up access to the Internet in over 98 major US cities, including New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Florida and Los Angeles, and it will expand its coverage to 150 cities by the end of 1998. ISWest has built a state-of-the-art Internet facility that connects small to medium size businesses with dedicated high speed Internet access. Westlake Village, CA January 6, 1998 – Internet Specialties West, Inc. has installed several new T-1 POPs or (Internet connections) in the Camarillo, El Rio and Sherman Oaks area, which will provide high-speed ISDN and Ethernet connections to local subscribers. "ISDN" refers to a digital Internet connection that is much faster than that of a modem. Dedicated ISDN also allows customers to send and receive e-mail in real time (without having to dial up an access number). "Ethernet" allow members of connecting offices to communicate without using outside lines at all.
